Senior Moments.
A few weeks ago I shot a charity event for the Philadelphia Senior Center held at Philadelphia City Hall. Throughout the year the seniors create art in the classes they take at the center and this is the event where they sell them to raise money to help support the center. Sounds like a sweat shop for old people, I know but it’s not. They have a great time and get lots of attention for all the amazing work they do. The main money comes from donated items from businesses and richies in the area that are placed in a silent auction during the event.
Here are a few shots from that night.

I love these and what great timing you have! I just watched a documentary short about an elderly woman who was vying to win a Miss Nursing Home competition. It was very sweet. I don’t think that one’s age should hinder his/her creativity & I think it is great to have events like this that showcase that fact. The second one is my favorite because it shows some of the art but I also love the sweet look on #4’s face. Nice work.
