Styled Shoot for Fall Issue of Contemporary Bride Magazine.

A few months ago I teamed up with a few amazing vendors for a Styled Photo Shoot for the fall issue of Contemporary Bride Magazine. This small shoot on a farm on the out skirts of Princeton, NJ was centered around these cute little cake stands from Cake It Up, LLC and we were published on page 116! I was lucky to get Daniella Tamasi as my Bride for the day and the Wonderful Dani Jaye Makeup Artistry for the three separate looks we planned out. In between each setup I decided to take the opportunity to shoot some beauty portraits and here are some of my favorites from the day.

Nicole & Tim – The Wedding.

Meet Nicole & Tim! I met Nicole through one of my 2011 Brides and it felt like we had been friends for years, even though we only just met. When I drove up to her family home where she was getting ready and saw the horses in the back yard I knew this was going to be a good day. I was early and she hadn’t arrived yet, so I went to work on her details, shooting her beautiful dress hanging on her parents bedpost. When she walked in she was glowing and you could just tell she couldn’t wait to be Tim’s wife! I recently asked Nicole when was the moment she knew Tim was the one she was going to marry. They first met at her sister’s house when she came over to help plan for the NYE party the next day. Cut to the end of that night when she & Tim were the only two left awake playing cards and getting to know each other. My favorite part of their story though was their second time meeting which was at the NYE party. Nicole had made an appearance, dressed to make mouths water and catch Tim’s eye (little did she know she was already running through Tim’s brain). Later that night she called to wish her parents Happy New Year and Tim got on the phone! ‘He said he wanted to see me the day after New Year’s before I went back to school. I agreed and in a drunken state blurted I wish you were here, I miss you. hahah. They say love at first sight and Tim and I believe it!’ Cute right?!
They were married in Ashton, PA at Church of Saint Joseph, which was all kinds of beautiful. It’s this round church with a gorgeous skylight making every seat in the house a great seat to see this couple say ‘I Do’. After the ceremony we headed over to the reception spot at The Concordville inn in Concordville, pa to take some pictures and celebrate the day.

Megan & Brendan – The Wedding.

Meet Megan & Brendan! I love a couple who is into taking pictures and with this couple (specifically Megan) we could do this daily. I don’t believe she has ever met a camera she didn’t like. πŸ™‚ They were married at Saint Bridget Church in Philadelphia, PA. This was a full catholic mass and even at the alter she was ready for her closeup! After our amazing 3 hours of picture time around the city we headed to the reception which was held at the City Avenue Hilton Hotel.

Susan & David – The Photo Booth!

For Susan & David’s Wedding they had a Photo Booth Setup which I offer as an add on to my wedding packages. This includes a two light setup with your choice of background and a butt-kickin second photographer to coax the crazy out of you and your guests. There are tons of props to choose from, including wigs, hats, masks, glasses, boas and well more… Also there are a couple dry erase boards in cool shapes for your guests to say what’s on their mind πŸ™‚
Check out a couple of my favorites from their wedding.

Some behind the scenes of David telling Solomon how Silly he Looked πŸ™‚

I’m pretty sure the double tie looks is going to be huge this year.

These little girls lived at the photo booth for about 2 hours.

Susan & David – The Wedding.

Meet Susan & David. We started the day over at the Hotel Dupont in the business district of downtown Wilmington, Delaware. When I walked in, Susan was just about to hop into the makeup chair and she was watching the flower girls who were being pampered by the hairstylist. After some beautiful getting ready shots and we headed over to The Congregation Beth Shalom Synagogue for some First Look time (which you know I love!) and of course the ceremony. One of my favorite shots from the day was right after the ceremony when David’s son Solomon came up to the couple for a hug. Such a great moment and So, So Sweet! The reception was held at Brantwyn Estate which is a fantastic venue and really puts together a fancy party. I could have spent all day shooting the couple on these grounds.

ADORABLE.

Carla & Joe – The Wedding.

Meet Carla & Joe. The were married in Northern Liberties in Philadelphia at Cescaphe Ballroom. The day started out kinda rainy but we totally lucked out when it was time to shoot the portraits. Right after the emotional First Look, we stepped outside to the cobblestone streets of old city to find the sun beaming down through the trees. Cut to me jumping up and down with excitement and practically running to the spot I wanted to shoot πŸ™‚
Check out some of my favorite shots of the day below but before you do let me tell you about their wedding favors. A donation was made to the American Cancer Society and to the Center for Childhood Cancer Research for CHOP. What better present can you give than one that will help a child beat this? This is something very close to Carla & Joe’s heart and I for one give them major points for being so selfless.

Lover’s Leap?

Salvatore!

The emotional First Look!

I Love it when the groom tears up!!!

Salvatore gets two pieces of a chain to symbolize his parents unity.

Somebody wants to go outside πŸ™‚

Ilan & Jeremy – The Wedding. Pt 2.

The wedding reception was held at Ilan’s parent’s home in Savannah, Ga. They strung lights through the trees and had miniature lamp posts throughout the back yard to light the dance floor. Everyone was free to roam and roam they did. From the backyard to the kitchen/dining room where they had the most unbelievable food ever. I know I talk too much about food but this was some down home country cookin that needs to be shouted about. They flew in a chef from Nashville named Matt Russo & he turned it out. If you’re looking for a great caterer find him here.
My favorite room was the living room in the front of the house that was dedicated to the musicians of the party (Meaning, Just about every person there & absolutely everyone in Jeremy’s family) and the ones who wanted to listen in. They had Guitars, Bongos, Maracas and I think I saw a Ukulele in there too. Anyone who caught that feelin could pick up an instrument and go to town. People were calling out songs and everyone would start to play and sing along. The amount of talent in that room would have made William Morris drool.

When it was time to give the speeches and sip the champagne (Cheerwine for the non drinker!) Ilan stepped up and told us something that she had never told anyone before. They had been dating a few months and on her birthday Jeremy took her out to celebrate. After the perfect dinner the waiter surprised her with a fruit/desert tray with candles so she could make her wish. As she blew out the candles her wish was ‘Please let me marry this man’…and she did. πŸ™‚

This Disco Ball wasn’t like that to begin with…it fell. I like it better this way.

These cakes were shipped in from New Orleans. What I wouldn’t do for a piece of each right now…

Ilan & Jeremy – The Wedding. Pt 1.

So you’ve already met this Rock Star couple Here and Here but now I’m making it official on my blog. Meet Ilan & Jeremy…married! I’m making this into a two part post because it was a weekend wedding and well there are just way too many moments that I want to share with you guys.
I’ve known Jeremy for years and like I said in the last post I was honored that he and Ilan chose me as their photographer. I met with them to discuss their wedding plans late last year and immediately fell for Ilan, hard. I wanted that beautiful fiery redhead for my bride!..Well, Jeremy’s bride but you know what I mean.
They were married in Savannah, Ga in the garden of The Owens Thomas House which is right off of Telfair Square in the heart of the city’s famous historic district. It couldn’t have been more beautiful.
Check out some of my favorites from the day.

I Swear to you this was real and not staged! How cute is she?!

The couples First Look. I met Jeremy in one of Savannah’s 24 historic Squares after the getting ready shots and we waited for Ilan to round the corner. His reaction to how unbelievably beautiful she is in her wedding dress is priceless.

Look at how much he loves her!

Jeremy is a VERY talented musician and is going to blow the heck up very soon btw. Check out his Solo work and also his band Missing Ships.

Dee & Ryan – The Wedding.

Meet Dee & Ryan! Again. We first met them in their Engagement Session post earlier this year. They were married at Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast in West Chester, PA just a few short weeks ago and it was beautiful. Everything was right. The weather. The Details. The hilarious wedding party! From readings out of The Soul of Rumi, a book of poems by Coleman Barks, to acoustic music preformed by two close family friends, you could just feel the personal touches that Dee & Ryan put into every part. Oh did I forget to mention that their first dance was a Bollywood Number! Yeah, amazing.
Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Jamie & Jason – The Wedding.

You first met Jamie & Jason this past September when I shot their Engagement Session all around Philadelphia. Well now it’s time to show off this hilarious couple dressed to the nines. We started of the day at Jamie’s grandma’s house for the getting ready shots. Jamie’s grandma is absolutely adorable by the way and her house totally reminds me of my Gran’s house but with an awesome painting of Jesus playing soccer (which I want).
They were married in St Martin of Tours Parish in Philadelphia, PA and partied it up a few miles down the road at a local venue. Check out some of my favorite moments from the day.
